The concert in Murthly Castle's magnificent chapel on Wednesday 10th July was a resounding success. For once, owing to the venue's wonderful acoustic, such a cliche is just . . . the best way of describing it.

PlaidSong's set of historic Scottish songs was thoughtful, well-researched, comprehensive, moving, funny, tuneful and oh so melodic. Both players were on top form. Some folk may have come for the venue (concerts are rarely held there) but readly confessed they would have stayed all night for the music.

Our thanks to Thomas and Kate Steuart Fothringham for providing the venue. To Nisa Bankfoot for the refreshments. And to Nicky and Syd of PlaidSong for so generously giving of their time and talents to provide a wonderful evening.
